Timeliness of Correcting Baseline Error in Wide-Swath Altimeter Based on Reference Topography Data

چکیده
The baseline error is a primary source of the wide-swath altimeter, directly related to cross-track distance, and can lead serious height errors at swath’s outer edge. Cross-calibration using discrepancies with reference data effectively estimate correct error. However, building surface that accurately describes sea observation time necessary use this cross-correction method. dynamic ocean environments where structure changes over are challenging. This paper proposes method for constructing topography (RTD) based on multi-source products altimeter. effectiveness proposed evaluated HYCOM model assess timeliness correction. results demonstrate RTD altimeter significantly RMSE corrected (SSH) in different regions typically between 1~2 cm, except some strong currents approximately 3~4 cm. interval affect accuracy correction influenced by variability SSH regions. In relatively slow near equator, effective HYRTD MORTD basically reach more than 7 days. rapidly, result may no longer be reliable only 1~3

Interferometric swath processing of Cryosat data for glacial ice topography
We have derived digital elevation models (DEMs) over the western part of the Devon Ice Cap in Nunavut, Canada, using “swath processing” of interferometric data collected by Cryosat between February 2011 and January 2012. With the standard ESA (European Space Agency) SARIn (synthetic aperture radar interferometry) level 2 (L2) data product, the interferometric mode is used to map the cross-track...
متن کاملError-Correcting Data Structures
We study data structures in the presence of adversarial noise. We want to encode a given object in a succinct data structure that enables us to efficiently answer specific queries about the object, even if the data structure has been corrupted by a constant fraction of errors. We measure the efficiency of a data structure in terms of its length (the number of bits in its representation) and que...
متن کاملA Rotating Knife-beam Altimeter for Wide-swath Remote Sensing of Ocean: Wind and Waves
The use of a nadir altimeter radar with a rotating knife-beam antenna pattern is considered for improved measurements of the sea surface wind and wave parameters over a wide swath. Theoretical calculations suggest the antenna beam rotating about the vertical axis is able to provide wide swath of order 250-350 km. Processing of the signals using time or Doppler sampling techniques results in the...
متن کاملInternational Policy on Wide Swath SAR Ocean Weather Data
ignificant benefits of wide swath synthetic aperture radar data for ocean weather observations have been demonstrated in principle. However, several obstacles must be overcome for this application to achieve its full potential as an operational system. Three themes emerge when considering these obstacles: data utility, data supply, and data policy. This article provides a summary of these issue...
متن کاملSoil moisture mapping in a semiarid region, based on ASAR/Wide Swath satellite data
In this paper, an operational algorithm is proposed for the mapping of surface moisture over the northern and central parts of Tunisia, in North Africa. A change detection approach is applied, using 160 multi-incidence Envisat ASAR Wide Swath images acquired in the horizontal polarization over a 7-year period. Parameterization of this algorithm is considered for three classes of vegetation cove...
